In this kind of situation, the best solution is to use spot lights with UV filters, which is obviously expensive if you don't already own the spotlights and the UV filters are not cheap (because they get very hot absorbing visible light.)
The next best solution is probably to use 4' fluorescent light fixtures with 40 watt black light bulbs in them. You will need to either sit them on the floor in a row or hang a row not far over the heads of the cheer leaders between the audience and performers. You will need to shield the tubes from direct viewing by the audience with aluminum foil reflectors because looking at the blacklight tubes gives many people headaches.

But how rough is rough and how tough is tough and how can you measure what abuse the torch can stand up to?

The easy answer is by looking at the 'Ingress Protection Number' or IP number.

Read on as we explore how the IP rating system works.

What do the digits in IP number indicate?

There are two or three digits in the IP number which signify how well the device stands up to liquid, solid objects and mechanical impacts.

Lets take a look at each of those numbers and see what they mean:

Solid materials
This is represented by the first digit of the code and can be any number from zero to six. An item with a rating of one will be protected from gentle contact from the back of your hand while a gadget with a rating of 6 will be protected from any form of dust.

Liquids
This is represented by the second digit of the code and can be any number from zero to seven. An item with a rating of one will be protected from dripping water while LED flashlights with a rating of seven will be capable of withstanding continued pressure underwater at depths greater than one meter.

Mechanical Impact
This is represented by the letter K and a two digit number and is not usually included in listings by manufacturers. It can be any number from 00 to 10. An item with a rating of 01 will be protected from the impact of a drop of a 200 gram object from 7.5 cm height while LED flashlights with a rating of 10 will be capable of withstanding the impact of the drop of a 5 kg object from a 40 cm height.

So if you put all those together a LED flashlight with an IP rating of IP66K10

Would be protected from:

* Any form of dust
* Continued pressure underwater at depths greater than one meter
* The impact of the drop of a 5 kg object from a 40 cm height

How does IP rating affect my LED buying decision?

When you are purchasing LED flashlights online, make sure that you look for the label 'outdoor use'. This ensures minimum IP44 standard level weatherproofing of the object you are buying.

Some of the LED flashlights are open at one end and this is the reason they are able to meet the IP standard which is set at 8. If the IP rating is 8, the flashlight can be inserted in water. No dive rating is given on the flashlight.

What do the IP ratings mean for you?

When you have to buy a LED flashlight, knowing the IP number is one of the important considerations. Always check the IP number on the flashlight. If the flashlight that you are buying has higher IP ratings, they will be more expensive than the ones that have lower IP ratings. When this is the case, you need to ask yourself about the type of conditions you will be using the light. This will help you in deciding which lights to buy.

If the flashlights are something your kids are going to use in the tents for campouts, then you may not require buy one with higher IP ratings. This is because the light will not be exposed to rain as the kids will come inside as soon as it starts to rain. Stampings is the process of cutting and forming metal alloys into specific forms, especially for use as components for large machinery or structures. Metal sheets can be molded into different pre-defined forms for use as food, as regular pots and jars. The most common alloys used in metal stamping steel, zinc, nickel, aluminum and titanium. Stampings is a very effective and productive means of production of many types of metal on a large scale.

In stamping, metal sheets are placed in a matrix or a press tool which is specially designed cavity that gives the preferred form of sheet metal. Upper part of the matrix is connected to the press slide while the lower component connects to the press bed. Specific component known as the blow pushes the sheet metal through the die, thus performing the actual development of the operation. After pressing, metal coated with gold, palladium, nickel or tin to prevent corrosion.
