These low-carb breakfast recipes can easily be incorporated into the most hectic of lifestyle.

Recipe 1

Basil tomatoes with smoked trout

Serve For 2

4 medium tomatoes

1 tbsp chopped fresh basil

Few drops of vinegar

Few drops of extra-virgin olive oil

2 small smoked trout

Freshly ground black pepper

Preparation:

Chop the tomatoes into halve and top with chopped fresh basil.

Drizzle the vinegar and the extra-virgin olive oil over the tomatoes, and place on a grill-tray.

Grill under a hot grill for about 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, place the smoke trout in a microwave-safe dish and microwave on high for 2 minutes, or place in an oven-safe dish covered with pierced aluminum foil and cook at 180o C for 10 to 12 minutes.

Flake the smoked trout and serve with the grilled basil tomatoes.

Season to taste with the freshly ground black pepper.

            Carbohydrate content per serving for this meal is 4 grams

Recipe 2.

Chestnut mushroom with scrambled eggs

Serve For 2

2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

2 large chestnut mushroom (wiped and stalks removed)

2 spring onions diagonal chopped

2 large eggs

1 tbsp mustard

1 tbsp chopped chives

Ground black pepper

Preparation:

Heat the extra-virgin olive oil in frying pan and gently sauté the mustard and the spring onions.

Spread the mixture over the mushroom and grill under a hot grill for about 5 minutes.

At the same time, prepare the scrambled egg

Place a mushroom in the centre of each plate and top with scrambled eggs.

Garnish with chopped chives and season with the freshly ground black pepper for taste.

            Carbohydrate content per serving for this meal is 3 grams

Recipe 3.

Egg Florentine

Serve For 2    

60 grams unsalted butter

400 grams fresh spinach leaves (rinsed, drained and stalks removed)

4 large eggs

2 tbsp chopped fresh basil leaves

2 tbsp parmesan cheese (grated)

Freshly ground black pepper

Preparation:

Melt the butter in a large saucepan, then gently sauté the spinach and basil leave over a low heat for 1-2 minutes until softened. Not too long, or it will disappear.

Transfer the spinach mixture to a shallow, oven-safe dish and smooth evenly over the base.

Form four hollow shapes in the spinach

Break an egg into the centre of each hollow.

Sprinkle ½ tbsp of parmesan cheese over each egg, season with freshly ground black pepper and cook in the centre of a preheat oven at 180o C for 12-15 minutes.

Serve immediately.

            Carbohydrate content per serving for this meal is 6 grams

It was one steaming hot afternoon. (deleted cliche). Heat waves made even the streets and buildings look like they were melting. So my sister and I decided to spend our day at the pool. We brought all of our swimming gear; flippers, floaties, goggles and a bag of rubber neon fish. You should try a A/c shop or possibly a plumbing shop as the insulation for ducts and pipes is much the same. You would be looking for the sheet stuff as opposed to reg pipe insulation. I am NOT referring to the stuff available at DIY home centers(They make great noodles though) This is commercial grade and heavy duty. I have had to insulate tanks with the stuff as well as appurtenances with-in a piping system

None of us wants to think about knee pain, especially while we are skiing. So what if a knee injury happens to you in the future? You will wonder how you could have prevented it from happening. Knee injury prevention tips are included here, so that you will not have to look back in vain, if you read them now.

When you are snowboarding or skiing, you will most likely have twisting forces that can occur at your knee joints. As you know your feet are usually locked (more or less) into the ski or snowboard, but you still need to adapt to the snowy terrain as you go over bumps in the mountain side. This sets up a situation were you might hurt your knee due to a twisting or otherwise awkward movement. Although we hope this does not ever happen, we do suggest you read on to get some useful prevention tips.

Even if you are a great skier, chances are that you can fall at some point during a ski trip. Or, if you are not a person who "has ever fallen" you can use this information to help someone who does:

1.) Don't fully straighten your legs when you fall. Keep your knees flexed. This helps avoid hyperextension of your legs, which can contribute to a knee injury.

2.) Don't try to get up until you have stopped sliding. Many knee injuries happen as a result of trying to get up to quickly when your balance is not good, and this is when your real injury might happen.

3.) Don't land on your hands (if you can help it) Keep your arms up and forward. This is more of a general point of safety.

4.) Do not jump unless you know where and how to land. Sounds simple enough, right? It is best to land on both skis and keep your knees flexed.

If you have a pre-existing knee injury or knee pain the use of a well designed knee brace can help reduce your pain, and can also help prevent future knee injuries from occurring. The United States ski team uses knee braces to help promote knee stability and to promote the future protection of their knees.

In its broadest sense, leather is any type of tanned animal hide. Different types of leather are characterized by both the type of animal skin used and the tanning and manufacturing methods employed. The most common types of leather are made from cow hide, but leather from other animals, such as kangaroos and ostriches, is also popular in certain applications. Different types of leather are suited to different purposes, including clothing, footwear, luggage, book binding, and drums.

A variety of animal skins are used to produce different looks in leather. Once leather is tanned and processed, certain sections are selected for use on a particular application. It will then go through another series of processing and splitting for each application. Leather quality is determined by the actual processes and chemicals used in its production. Respectable manufacturers use high quality in the production of furniture, car upholstery, as well as jackets and clothing. Lower priced leather on the other hand, means lower quality and is less durable in the long run.

An animal hide can be made into leather by a number of different methods, each of which lends different properties to the final product. Leather tanned with vegetable-based products is supple but can be damaged by exposure to water. Alum-tanned leather, created with aluminum salts, is less supple and can rot in water, but it can be made in much lighter shades than vegetable-tanned leather. A newer method of tanning, using chromium salts, results in a very supple leather that holds up relatively well in water. Brain-tanned leather or buckskin, made with animal brains or other emulsified oils, is washable and significantly softer than any of the above varieties, but it is also the rarest, as it is costly and time-consuming to produce.

Stiffer, more durable types of leather, suitable for use in drums, book binding, and, historically, armor, are created with different methods. Rawhide is made by scraping animal hide, treating it with lime, and stretching it throughout the drying process. Boiling in water or wax is another method used to make extremely tough types of leather.

The softer types of leather can be prepared in a few different ways. Full-grain leather, used in the finest leather products, is not altered past removing the hair and tanning the hide. Therefore, it requires raw materials of excellent quality. Top-grain leather is sanded on one side and given an artificial grain in order to hide imperfections in the raw material. The other side of this type of leather is fuzzy. Suede is fuzzy on both sides, as it is cut from the inside of an animal hide.

Other types of leather include patent leather, which has a very shiny, smooth finish, often coated with plastic; and shagreen, a rough leather usually colored green. Many special types of leather are used in luxury products from gloves to pocketbooks. Belting leather is heavy and durable and can retain its shape exceptionally well. Napa leather is known for its softness, as is slunk, made from the hide of a calf fetus. Vachetta leather is typically used as a trim on handbags.
