Inflatable Whitewater
I want to learn to kayak?
I have been whitewater rafting on the Ocoee several times, and I absolutely love it. I want to try out kayaking now. I have never kayaked before, only "funyaked" - it was an inflatable kayak, maybe more like a one person raft on the Hiwassee, Tn.
I live in North Florida though so I don't know of any places where I could try out kayaking.
Are there any places where I could rent a kayak?
If I wanted to buy one, what would be the best type to get?
What is the best way to learn how to kayak?
Please! Attend a week long kayak school. Inquire of the Nantahala Outdoor Center. It will take forever to learn by yourself. A weekend pair of classes will get you started. Buying a kayak should be the last step. The Ocoee should have schools.
