I sea kayak but I also climb mountains, could I use a marine radio if I got into trouble on a mountain?
A lot of mountainous terrain in Scotland you can not get a mobile phone signal but a VHF marine radio you can pick up coast guard stations, could I be able to ask the coast guard using a marine radio to contact the police to call out mountain rescue if I got into difficulty on a Scottish mountain or could this get me prosecuted for not following the proper protocols in summing help in the mountains.
If the radio works use it, you cant be prosecuted for that
